SHRM Sarasota is an affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the HR Florida State Council.

Qualifications for Membership

Membership in the SHRM Sarasota is personal, and not corporate, in accordance with SHRM chapter policy. SHRM Sarasota welcomes applications for membership from individuals who are currently active (or retired) in some phase of the HR profession or have a bona fide interest in the HR and/or employee relations profession.

SHRM Sarasota is a 100% SHRM chapter.  You must have an active membership with SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) in order to be a member of SHRM Sarasota.

Application for Membership

Please apply for membership online.  To do so, please click the link above [JOIN/RENEW] to fill out the application with SHRM.  You will see the box with the option to join the SHRM Sarasota chapter. Any fees can be paid via credit card online via the SHRM website.  Completed applications for SHRM + SHRM Sarasota membership will be reviewed by SHRM and communicated with SHRM Sarasota upon final SHRM approval.

SHRM Membership

All members of SHRM Sarasota must also become members of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Starting February 4, 2025, SHRM membership will cost $299. SHRM membership offers access to resources, news, and tools for professionals in the human resources field. There are different membership levels, including professional, student, global, executive, and enterprise. Click on the link above for more information regarding SHRM membership and to join SHRM/SHRM Sarasota. When you renew your annual SHRM membership, you can add SHRM Sarasota on for only $30.

(The costs for general membership meetings and other programs are not included in the annual membership dues.)

Change of Personal Information

Once your membership is confirmed by SHRM, you will be added to our membership database.  Please go to Update Membership Profile under the Members Only tab at mySHRMSarasota.org to make changes to your personal information such as home address, employer, certification obtained, email address, etc. If you are unable to access your profile, email membership@shrmsrq.org for assistance.        

Monthly Meetings

Meetings are held on the third Friday of every month, either virtually or traditional in-person events at a variety of local establishments.  Fees of the meetings will sometimes include guest speaker with HRCI and SHRM CEU's and a meal.  Please see our events calendar for speaker and topic details, or to register for an event. SHRM Sarasota has introduced remote, live-stream options for some meetings so HR professionals can learn and earn CEU's from their home or business office. Online Zoom webinars are not including food or beverage.
